Initial Appointment & Assessment

Initial Appointment & Assessment

All treatments involve filling out history, consent and covid screening forms. Your therapist will greet you and provide an assessment of your condition, addressing your specific needs. The appointment will then proceed to treatment and in most cases homecare advice will be given.
Your first visit will typically be 1 hour in length. During this initial appointment, there will be history-taking, and physical assessment. The treatment will begin with the patient being instructed on how to lie on the table, face up, face down or possibly lying on your side. We have special tables to accommodate late stage pregnancy. Typically patients disrobe to a certain level, but this is not essential. We encourage you to stay fully clothed or disrobe to whatever level you are personally comfortable with. You are fully draped during the entire treatment and your modesty and boundaries are always respected. The therapist will often check in with you to assess your pain tolerance, and general comfort.
At the end of the initial treatment, you may be provided with a recommendation for follow-up treatment, and homecare instructions.
Communication is key, with your therapist, and with the clinic.
